April Bloomfield has one of the best burgers in New York, and although I'm not a huge fan of sweets, the Banoffee Pie is also delicious.

Chosen for Eater 38 - The Spotted Pig inspired a thousand knock-offs over the last decade, but the original is still the best, by far. April Bloomfield's food is a heady mix of traditional English fare and California cuisine, with a splash of the Mediterranean thrown in for good measure. The burger and the gnudi will forever be the most popular dishes, but make sure to order a few vegetables too. » Read Full Review

The Spotted Pig is the epicenter of alternative dining in New York, a ridiculously cramped gastro-pub in the West Village where you suffer physically and usually eat well...The food is well-meaning, hearty and inflexible. Pig is more Chez Panisse than Corner Bistro-a convivial place to have a pint, sure, but also a wonderful place to eat and, most shockingly, considering England's long record of parsnip-and-turnip abuse, a safe haven for vegetarians. » Read Full Review
